March 13, 2012 – Metal face

I walked by this barrier outside a construction site on Chapel St (more apartments) and snapped this shot.

It’s not a particularly great photograph, but I was fascinated by it’s meaning. What did the writer mean by “metal face” and why this place?

The Urban Dictionary says it could have a few different meanings (read the alternatives here). I like the first meaning of metal face best “the phenomenon of one’s face muscles inexplicably contorting upon hearing an extremely metal riff”.

Perhaps the writer was just really diggin’ Sepultura or Metallica in their earbuds, or a riff got in their head on their way past this construction site?

I like the way that the spray paint has dripped down the wall, messing up the stark letters.
