May 28, 2012 – Prahran Town Hall

I don’t know a lot about architecture, but the Prahran Town Hall building that houses the library and council offices is a lovely building. Upon reading up in Wikipedia, I’ve learned that it was built in 1861 to the design of local architects Crouch and Wilson in the Italianate style of Victorian architecture that was popular in Melbourne at the time.

Nowadays, you have to watch out overhead as a massive flock of lorikeets squeak and squawk every afternoon in the trees out the front, inadvertently shitting on innocent passers-by.
