August 28, 2012 – Court

Afternoon sunlight at the local basketball court on one of our first days with a hint of springtime warmth.

August 27, 2012 – Pigeons in flight

Run up to a group of pigeons and shoot!

August 26, 2012 – Chapel st unearthed

Over this weekend Chapel st was closed from Dandenong Rd all the way up to Commercial/Malvern Rd. They dug up the road and replaced the tram tracks – apparently the last time new tracks were put down was 1974.

Many shops closed for the five days while they worked round the clock replacing tracks and re-concreting. It was quite disconcerting as it really changed the atmosphere on Chapel st itself (obviously), as well as on all the side streets – damn eerie!

August 25, 2012 – Alannah Hill window

For those who are not familiar with Alannah Hill’s designs – they are exceedingly girly and ultra feminine. The current window display at their Chapel St store is simply gorgeous with all these fresh spring flowers suspended in glass jars.

August 24, 2012 – Lunch

Yummy lunch with manzel and his mother in Richmond today at the very popular Pillar of Salt. Great food, excellent coffee with friendly top-notch service. Will definitely go again.

August 23, 2012 – After the storm

Just the hint of a rainbow after a big storm with hail today.

August 22, 2012 – Jam Factory ceiling

I love the ceiling at the Jam Factory. It’s a shopping centre now but was originally a brewery, then, duh, a jam factory.

The jam factory closed in the 1960’s after a gradual downturn in the preserves/jam market throughout the 50’s due to the growing affluence of once were jam lovers eating more fresh fruit.

August 21, 2012 – Shadows on a fence

August 20, 2012 – OMG

Hip suburban church from the car.

August 19, 2012 – Sitting on a bench

August 18, 2012 – Street light

I like the darkness, mystery and composition of this shot.

August 17, 2012 – Amelia eating (again)

Today I totally forgot to take a picture for the blog or see with my creative eyes when we were out. Excuse 1; Amelia had a bad cold, excuse 2; we didn’t go far from the house.

She did have beetroot for lunch and I sent a photo to manzel – and so this is all I have to post. At least the editing process today was easy.

August 16, 2012 – Giraffe

This little fellow is part of a stilts costume at the Polyglot theatre. Amelia and I were lucky enough to be part of a test audience for a new show from the Polyglot team designed for babies under 1 year called HOW HIGH THE SKY that will premiere at the 2012 Melbourne Festival this October. Highly recommend taking your little people along to this, it’s a unique experience and it made me stop and see through Amelia’s eyes for a short time.

August 15, 2012 – I love my food

How can you resist this cheeky grin?

August 14, 2012 – Rainy road

August 13, 2012 – Almost closing

Today was our first wedding anniversary and we treated ourselves to dinner at St Kilda restaurant Golden Fields. Loved it, loved it, loved it – what a fitting place to celebrate our love.

August 12, 2012 – Green wall

This is the outside of the fun Windsor cafe/bar Tyranny Of Distance which is a converted petrol station. The green wall caught my eye today as we went for a late afternoon walk to catch the last of the winter sun.

August 11, 2012 – Face on the wall

More cool street art & some random tagging.

August 10, 2012 – Roses

I bought this beautiful bouquet for a friend’s birthday today. They just screamed at me, albeit very softly and serenely. She loved them.

August 9, 2012 – Our shadow

Me and Amelia (in the baby carrier) in the afternoon sun.

August 8, 2012 – Street wee

Ha ha. Someone is playing smart with their street art in this alcove off Chapel st.

August 7, 2012 – Before lunch

Before the lunch trade hits on Chapel st.

August 6, 2012 – Red Door

Like I said – I really love reflections. Peering into the Yum Cha joint Red Door I found an interesting reflection of the alley opposite.

August 5, 2012 – Reflections in the gutter

I have many shots of reflections in my blog and there’s about to be two in a row. I love how they are a window to a different world.
