We pulled off the highway at Wangaratta to stop at Milawa and wander about its lovely streets. We bought cheese, wine and olives – as you do in a gourmet region!
Over this weekend Chapel st was closed from Dandenong Rd all the way up to Commercial/Malvern Rd. They dug up the road and replaced the tram tracks – apparently the last time new tracks were put down was 1974.
Many shops closed for the five days while they worked round the clock replacing tracks and re-concreting. It was quite disconcerting as it really changed the atmosphere on Chapel st itself (obviously), as well as on all the side streets – damn eerie!
Before the lunch trade hits on Chapel st.
Like I said – I really love reflections. Peering into the Yum Cha joint Red Door I found an interesting reflection of the alley opposite.
I stroll down St Edmunds Rd a few times each week, but normally I walk on the other side of the road. Sometimes a different perspective can really open your eyes, as today I saw RTIST gallery in its full glory.
Now I just have to head inside.
There is a sweet little deli around the corner from our place. Windsor Deli is run by Alan and Kat you can always be guaranteed good coffee and a smile by them and their staff.
Amelia and I sat inside today to avoid the rain while I enjoyed my morning coffee.
