April 6, 2012 – Pigeon

Got going early today for an annual memorial walk in Centennial Park to remember a great man. I looked up at our morning tea spot and saw this pigeon cosy under the rafters.

March 30, 2012 – Sun through the trees

I’m not religious, but I read once that rays of sunlight, like this (and also through the clouds) are “fingers of god”, I think this is a wonderful sentiment and no matter which god you have faith in, the idea that sunlight contains a spiritual force really resonates with me.

The fingers of god touched down at Noosa’s main beach boardwalk.

March 23, 2012 – Oil drum art

I spotted this oil drum outside an abandoned warehouse and thought that it was actually a really unique piece of art.

Sometimes the most ugly, washed up junk can be artful to someone.

We’ve also had a council clean-up in our area this week; I get so excited seeing what people might have decided to do-away with. It fills me with the feeling of possibility.

March 16, 2012 – Coffee

Up very early today and we hit the coffee shop. I have a few cafes that I visit, Dukes Coffee Roasters was it today.

I did take a few shots of a cyclist wearing big brown boots, a trench coat and a mini skirt, but apart from the outfit – the shots weren’t interesting.

She really made me wonder though, is lycra really the most practical attire for bike riding, perhaps cycle shops be throwing in bonus trenches this season…? Maybe in Melbourne.

March 9, 2012 – Whirly

Don’t really know what this is called, but I thought whirly was close enough.

Snapped outside a $2 shop on Chapel st.

I love how this filter makes the colours pop.

March 2, 2012 – Terrarium

This gorgeous terrarium (from Gumboot Art and Gardens) was perching on the counter of my favourite Melbourne clothing store Since Grey in Fitzroy.

I took some great shots today, a gorgeous dog called Susie Mouse and a fabulous reflected shot of my friend Anna as we meandered along Gertrude st. Unfortunately they didn’t make it, but if you want to see all the shots I’m taking via Instagram … find me @shelleywatters.

February 24, 2012 – Tracks on the wall

Street art can happen in the unlikeliest of places.

Today was another bright sunny day in Melbourne and the light reflecting off the paint on the highside makes this seem a little eerie.

The tracks on the wall graces the northern side of Le Contraste a vintage wares store on Union st, Windsor.

February 17, 2012 – The hand

I felt a little uninspired today due to a cranky babe. This was one of four shots I found, and this hand (and several other kooky ad ons) feature at Eugenius, a cute hole in the wall cafe in Windsor.

February 10, 2012 – Harvest

Fresh cherry and tomato berry tomatoes harvested from my much neglected garden. Even though it looks ugly it’s still providing us with more tomatoes than we can reasonably eat. These are at various stages of ripeness in the kitchen, just waiting to be devoured.
